This article is pinned: it collects Surok's setup on every device and answers for people moving from other services. If something does not add up, write to the support bot, a person answers.

First, an account: one minute

  1. Sign up by email or through the Telegram bot @surokvpnbot. No documents, phone number or card needed.
  2. The first days are free for subscribing to the marmot's channel. After that 220 ₽ a month for one device, 380 ₽ for three, paid once, no auto-renewal.
  3. The "Connect" tab in your account has buttons for every device. Everything below is those same buttons with explanations.

Android

Simplest: the Surok app. Download the APK or install from Google Play, sign in, press the button. The app picks the fastest server itself; Russian sites go direct.

Via Happ or v2RayTun. Install the client from Google Play, in your account tap "Add to Happ", choose a server whose name starts with 🇷🇺, turn it on. Details: Happ setup, v2RayTun setup.

iPhone and iPad

We have no App Store app yet, so use Happ or v2RayTun: both are available in the Russian App Store. Streisand is a good client, but it is unavailable in the Russian App Store region and installs only with a foreign Apple ID. Install the app, in your account tap "Add to …" on the phone, confirm adding the VPN configuration, choose a 🇷🇺 server. Troubleshooting: Happ, v2RayTun, Streisand.

Windows

The Surok app for Windows: installer, sign-in, button. It works for the whole computer, messengers and games included. For those who like settings, Hiddify is the alternative: guide.

Mac

The Surok app for macOS, same story: install, sign in, press. For the browser there is a separate extension.

Linux

Happ and Hiddify ship Linux builds, both accept our subscription link. Copy the link from your account, add it via "+", choose a 🇷🇺 server.

Android TV and set-top boxes

Install Happ on the TV, open the subscription QR code in your account and scan it from the screen. Ads in TV apps are cut on our server, nothing extra to install. More: VPN for a TV.

Browser: Chrome, Yandex Browser, Edge, Firefox

The Surok extension installs from the store and gives 7 days free with no sign-up at all. Press "Try for free", press the button, sites open. It protects only the browser, but with per-site rules and WebRTC leak protection.

Checking that it works

Open surokvpn.com/ip: it should show a foreign address and the exit country. Then open your bank or a government site: they should open without complaints, because they go direct.

If you are moving from another service

From Outline. Outline runs on Shadowsocks, which carriers have learned to recognise and cut, hence "works sometimes". Surok's VLESS with Reality is disguised as ordinary HTTPS, and the entry is in Moscow. Your Outline key goes nowhere; just set up one of the apps above. More.

From Amnezia. Amnezia needs your own server, a foreign card for hosting and regular updates. If you are tired of administering, Surok does all that for you. If you enjoy it, Amnezia can import our Xray config and work as a client. More.

From BlancVPN or HideMy.name. Compare not the monthly price but the price per device, whether there is an entry inside Russia, and whether Russian sites go direct by default. Surok has that in every app, and the price does not depend on promotions. BlancVPN, HideMy.name.

From free Psiphon, Proton Free and the like. Free tiers limit speed, countries and queue you for a server; their own sites say so. If you want to test a paid service without paying, Surok has free days and an extension with no sign-up.

From classic OpenVPN or WireGuard. These protocols are detected at the carrier level and cut first. If your old service never named its protocol, it is most likely one of them.

What next

Surok works on every device with one subscription: the three-device plan covers a phone, a laptop and a TV. If your case is not in the list above, write to support and we will add it here.
