BlancVPN not working: what to check and what to use instead
BlancVPN won't connect, connects without internet or is very slow. A step-by-step checklist — from subscription to mobile carrier — and what to do if nothing helps.
BlancVPN is one of the well-known VPNs for Russia, and when it stops working, "BlancVPN not working" shows up in search. Here's a checklist that fits BlancVPN and pretty much any VPN, from simple to complex.
1. Subscription and devices
Check in your account that the subscription is active. Most services limit devices: an old phone may be taking the slot your new one needs.
2. Update the app and configuration
VPNs in Russia constantly change server addresses and disguise settings. Update the app from the store; in third-party clients (Happ, v2RayTun, Hiddify) refresh the subscription manually.
3. Another server or protocol
Usually specific addresses or connection methods get blocked, not the whole service. Switch country or protocol.
4. Wi-Fi vs mobile data
The most telling test. If the VPN works on home Wi-Fi but not on mobile data, it's almost certainly the carrier. Some Russian carriers run whitelists where ordinary protocols don't pass and you need special methods such as connecting via a CDN.
5. Two VPNs at once
Another VPN, an antivirus with "network protection" or a work profile will conflict. See two VPNs on one phone.
6. "Connected" but no sites open
Open our IP check. A real Russian address means traffic bypasses the VPN; a foreign address with sites still not loading points to the server or DNS. See VPN connects but times out.
If nothing helps
Contact BlancVPN support with your carrier, city and device. If you need a VPN right now, keep a backup. Surok works as a backup or main VPN: entry server inside Russia and exit in Europe, several connection methods in one subscription including a CDN path for whitelisted mobile networks, local sites bypass the tunnel, free trial.
